Bachelor of Nursing Science

 

Nursing Science is the art of caring for sick people with the science of health care. It is a vital component of any form of medical care. Nursing duties are manifold and cover a wide range of functions and responsibilities, which depends with the level of qualification and the working environment. At the initial level, nurses are required for the bedside care of patients, while at senior level they are required to manage special group of people like psychiatric, pediatric, intensive care patients etc, which require specialized skills. They are also involved in dispensing medication, keeping records of the patient`s progress, setting up and operating medical equipment, administration and several other routine chores. The B.Sc Nursing Science course has been set up to teach the candidates (especially females) to serve the patients and to enable them to understand their needs. B.Sc (Nursing) is a three-year integrative course.

Further studies after Bachelor of Nursing Science :

Bachelor of Home Science

Bachelor of Home Science is a three year integrated course that covers an array of topics and provides an insight into various fields. The duration of the course is three years. Females largely under take this course.

Options available:
The options available for B.HSc students are as follows:   Nutrition and dietetics,  Rural community extension ,  Child development ,  Textiles/clothing,  Interior decoration

Further studies:
Normally after the completion of B.HSc, an individual may pursue a course in M.HSc (Masters in Home Science) in any of the above courses.

Future prospects:
After the completion of B.HSc, one can make a career in the following fields:
Service jobs - Maintenance and supervision of house keeping departments at tourist resorts, hotels, catering facilities, restaurants etc.

Eligibility for the course:
A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree course of Bachelor of Science - Information Technology, should either:
(1) Pass HSC examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subject and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate for Open Category and 40% marks in aggregate in case of Reserved category candidates.
(2) Candidates with post HSC-Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology and allied branches will be eligible for direct admission to the Second year of B.Sc. (IT).
